Exploring braille and sign language as forms of communication used in wayfinding throughout a space 🚧
Researching accessibility and how to educate people about the significance of these systems ♿. Examining the reasons why such platforms should exist, their implications, and more!
Project 📝
Sign language is a complex and nuanced form of communication that can express a wide range of thoughts and ideas.
The most rewarding part of my research was discovering a niche that doesn’t yet exist and understanding the reasons behind its absence. Additionally, gaining insight into why existing apps are often counterintuitive was very helpful in my research process.
Goals 💡
Braille is a valuable tool for communication and literacy, enabling blind and partially sighted individuals to access the same information and opportunities as those who are sighted. I wanted to explore and experiment with a new platform and software to 3D print these assets while also connecting them to my original narrative - to explore signs and semotics.
